SR-167 was built for Olympic traffic to Snowbasin in 2002 and rides like it: modern, wide, cambered sweepers rolling over the shoulder between Morgan Valley and Ogden Valley. It's short — nine miles — but it's the connective tissue of every northern loop we ride: Ogden Canyon up, Trappers over, Monte Cristo out, or reverse. It's also the road for shaking down a new-to-you machine: enough speed to trust it, enough sight-line to survive your optimism. On a fall morning with Snowbasin dusted white, it's genuinely hard to believe it's a commuter road.
